Week in Review 34 & 35

I am so excited to be winding down Senior's first grade year and our first year of homeschooling! We still have 3 more weeks of Adventures in My Father's World and will most likely continue with math, spelling, grammar, and of course reading 3 days a week through the summer.

Over the last two weeks Senior has completed:

Math U See Beta: Unit 1 review and test (100% yeah!!) & Lessons 8-10. He finished 3 lessons because it was a review of money.

All About Spelling Level 2: Step 16 & 17

First Language Lessons: 113-122

Reading: I am still amazed at how many amazing books Senior has read this year! One of my most favorite sights!

Here are just two of the many books from the basket the past two weeks.

My amazing sister-in-law suggested a new series of books. Senior read the first two in four days and loved them. He has the next two waiting at the library for him ;-)


Adventures in MFW (weeks 30 & 31): In Bible, we have been studying that Jesus is "the Resurrection and the Life". For history, Senior really enjoyed learning about the Transcontinental Railroad. That week we visited our local Locomotive Museum and the boys just LOVED it!

We also covered Pioneers on the Plains, Colorado, North Dakota, and South Dakota in history.

In Science, we got caught up on our study of magnets. Senior enjoyed this book all about magnets.

I confess that we are still about a week behind in our science work but we have all summer to catch up.

On our nature walk today, Senior found a treasure. We were all so excited with Robin's egg shell.

Senior wanted to check the accuracy of book and had to make sure the egg would fit on a quarter. It did!

Only 3 more weeks to go!
